The Passion Behind The Mission
Save The Legacy grew out of a passion for wanting others to experience what we have, knowing that is entirely possible. It also grew out of the heartbreak of seeing so many of our friends end up in divorce and failed remarriages, while they’re children ended up hardened and broken. As we tried to encourage those who thought the only option was to do what so many others were doing, we could only ask — “what kind of legacy do you want to leave for you and your children?”
Save The Legacy And Your Family
Save The Legacy is about saving marriages and families, providing resources and helpful articles on solving problems, preventing divorce and renewing relationships. Our site is a work in progress; it is our hope and prayer that it will act as a banner for the cause of the preservation of marriage and the family, and a source of inspiration, resources, answers, and hope for this cause.
We are here to address the great magnitude of the effects which broken marriages and families have on the world and on the church, and to promote an enduring mind-set for these relationships through enriching Biblical resources, testimonials and our personal reflections via the blog.
Beginnings
We’re Bob and Evy Smith. We grew up in the Philadelphia Pennsylvania area, met in a church, raised four awesome kids when time was young, and then remembered a dream to do music together. While music was always a part of us, it was family that came first.
Bob with a BFA in graphic design has had a graphic design and advertising career, working from home much of the time; while Evy was first and foremost a wife and mother who had her greatest influence staying home with the children. As our family and friends can attest, we didn’t always have a lot of money, but we did have something money couldn’t buy. So after 35 years of happy marriage and a great relationship with our children, we believe we are leaving a legacy — but we’re not finished yet.

The themes we have been speaking of, inspire many of the songs we’ve written on our debut CD “Ballads For A Broken World.” You can hear and download our songs as well as purchase the CD at: http://www.bobandevy.com
Core Belief
We believe that the foundation for a healthy marriage and all other aspects of life as well, is a right relationship with God. A relationship that will only come as we embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ, who died for our sins to reconcile us to God. It is by that reconciliation alone that we are enabled by God’s power to display the love, mercy, forgiveness, grace and humility of the person and work of Jesus Christ to the people in our lives. 2 Corinthians 5:17-6:1 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them…” It is on this basis that the Apostle Paul states with certainty in 1 Corinthians 13, “Love never fails.” Love is not just an emotion, but actions that flow from a heart of purpose; and if that purpose is grounded in the grace of God, the power to transform our marriage relationships is fully accessible.
The Time Is Now
We are raising the trumpet to our mouths in a desperate plea to wake up and strengthen the things that remain. If there ever was a time, it is now to do something before what is germane to all we hold sacred is redefined by those who despise it, cast off by those who have been ravaged by it, and met with indifference by those who have seen enough hurt and suffering to care. It is then that we all lose. Our society is moving quicker to that point, than any effort to date to stop it. One sure way to stop this raging river is not only to take a stand and speak up, but to show a better way, and draw as many as possible into the LIVING WATERS that alone has the power to turn the tide. It is our prayer that God helps us, for we’ve already seen what we have done without Him.
Our Prayer
It is our prayer that through Save The Legacy, many get inspired by and connected with the resources and teachings, and find renewal and healing in their relationships, and a sense of purpose and destiny as they live their lives before God and the watching world.
